When Should a Leader Be Directive or Empowering How to Develop Your Own Situational Theory of Leadership Case Solution

A situational leadership theory attempts to match a style of leadership, or a specific type of external circumstances. The general idea is that a type of leadership will be effective in a situation, but a different kind of leadership, be effective in another situation. Historically, situational leadership theories were too abstract to apply to specific situations. However, the concept of situational leadership retains considerable appeal intuitive. In this article, we build on our previous research on situational leadership during resuscitation in a trauma center, in order to develop an overall strategy for how a leader can better develop their own works of personal leadership theory best for your particular circumstances . ? The core strategic focus is to: (1) establish goals for a specific situation, (2) the definition of the types of leadership potential, (3) identifying the situational conditions, (4) which corresponds to a style leadership to the particular situation, and (5) determining how the match between leadership style and the situation will be made. Medical Center trauma, always present an interesting example of how leaders consider elements of the situation to guide their own leadership.
