What do Firms From Transition Economies Want From Their Strategic Alliance Partners Case Solution & Answer

Actively engaged in transition from central planning to the free market financial system can be coupled with an economy in transition. The global picture of today, there are several important economies in transition, in various stages of transition and with varying degrees of success. However, it is not known in this important sector of the global economy. As companies seek partnerships with companies in transition, it is important to know what these companies want alliance partners. China and Russia: For more information, a study of interviews with managers of private companies in the two largest economies in transition and strategic importance was made. We found that Chinese and Russian companies often expect for some of the same things as their counterparts with regard to partnerships mature economies are also interested in other things that are not normally associated with alliances: the influence policy, relief bribery, extortion and protection or violence. In addition, it was found that due to the diversity of the institutional conditions in the two countries, Chinese companies are not always looking for the same things that partnerships are businesses, despite superficial similarities between two Russian economies. Based on these results, guidelines for companies seeking alliance partners in the economies in transition, to help determine if a partnership is provided is good for them and plan accordingly.
