The HBT Merger (China Roles Version) Case Solution & Answer

This is a case of RPGs, for use in a course on leadership development for MBA students. The case has four functions, each for two students to play the U.S. and China-based managers. There are two versions of the case, one of the students playing the role based in the United States (L-22US) managers, and one for students playing the role of managers based in China (L-22CHN). Each version has a common set of data and a set of facts on that side. The objectives of the role play set in the case can not be completed successfully if players seeking information from the other side and work together to reach an agreement. Students must submit post-merger expectations, meet different interests and get the proposal emphasizes on the track fusion. They have the opportunity to demonstrate active listening, research and information on the post-merger expectations HBT and HBT seat in Shanghai. The two pairs of students go to the meeting with different objectives and will have to manage the expectations and perceptions of the other party in a way that we can say, cooperation, or both.
