Surviving Organizational Disasters Case Solution & Answer

Human and natural disasters are becoming more common in today’s world. Among others, companies should worry because the survival of the organization of these effects, disrupting the life and work of employees, suppliers, customers and the infrastructure of the organization. If the current trend continues, the Federal Agency for Emergency Management is on track to report 30% of disasters in 2010 than in 2009. Disasters of the Organization are the crisis in the end. While the crisis management literature provides a useful tool for planning the organization internal threats, which does not adequately address the major external threats caused by disasters base. With this difference in mind, we present a framework for planning for natural disasters or man-made: the continuity of operations planning (COOP). Continuity of operations planning is a tool that helps organizations stay in business in extreme circumstances. Although the continuity of operations planning is not an entirely new practice, many SMEs are reluctant to participate in such planning. To highlight the value of the process, this article gives examples of disaster organization, along with a simplified development of effective continuity of operations plan method.
