Shanghai Diligence Law Firm, began in January 2006, is a fast-growing law firm in the development of legal services in the China market. Besides the usual challenges facing all professional services firms (picking and retaining talent and building a customer base desired), the company faces the challenges and opportunities that are unique to their environment in China and the fact the company does not have three years. One of the partners of the company, Joseph Shang, has created an innovative compensation he calls the “ABCD model” that allows even the youngest associated with obtaining compensation for the provision of new business. This model is a hybrid between the typical compensation system found in a law Chinese lawyers and UK law firms and the U.S.. objective of this approach is to allow compensation for the company and retain promising lawyers while giving them an incentive to grow the business. unusual place for a typical firm lawyers, or any type of professional services, the compensation model is used in practice. Shang Founder and CEO, Chenyao Wu, has its own version of a model of “ABCD”, and discussions are underway in what the company should do about compensation.
