Autocratic Leadership Style:

This style of leadership allows senior managers to make decisions on their own without consultation with the personnel who have to implement the decisions. The managers have the ultimate authority to impose their decisions on employees and not a single employee has the power to challenge the decisions of senior management (Johnson, Rose). This style of the leadershipis useful when the employees need strict supervision and are not creative. This type of style is also beneficial when the management has to make decisions, and the need for input from the employees is not necessary. However, this style of leadership may result in the de-motivation among the staff and would cause high staff turnover.

Democratic Leadership Style

Itis also called as theparticipative style of leadership. In this style, the senior management takes the inputs from the employees, but the authority of implementing the decision lies with the senior management. When implementing the change, the views of those on the change is implementedtaken which increases the morale and job satisfaction among the lower level of organization (Raza, Ahmad;).

However, this type of leadership style can cause different disadvantages. This kindof leadership style is not suitable for conditions where the decision has to be taken quickly. Furthermore, there may be multiple ideas when consulting all the employees therefore, it might create de-motivation among the employees as their ideas would not beconsidered when implementing the change.

Laissez-faire Leadership Style:

In this leadership style, the manager gives the authority to the members to do the work and to assign the deadlines themselves. The manager will only interfere when needed otherwise he/she does not interfere with their work.This style of leadership is suitable when the employees are highly skilled and committed. However, all the staffmembers do not possess these qualities, so for those employees, it will be tough to operate effectively and efficiently. Also, this style of leadership results in the loss of control of management over its employees.

On the other hand, this style may create higher motivation and job satisfaction, which would lead to better productivity and performance of the employees. Also, this style may create an opportunity for the employees to commit frauds as there are less internal controls.

Transformational Leadership Style:

Transformational leadership style is regarded as the most efficient way to leadership. Transformational leaders have a high degree of ethics, integrity, and emotional motivation. They motivate their subordinates fromtwo-way communication. They want every employee to do their best, and they possess high-quality conflict solution skills, thus this may result in improvement in the performance of the subordinates. Thisstyle of leadership is suitable at the time of implementation of change. Another characteristic of transformational leader is that they empower their followers and subordinates in performing their task.

Charismatic Style of Leadership:

This kind of leadership is similar to thetransformational style of leadershipbecause both the leaders tend to motivate their subordinates. The charismatic leader motivates and influences their subordinates through exceptional charismatic qualities of leadership. However, there are some limitations of charismatic leadership style. As the charismatic leadership skills are very rare, therefore it is tough to find the successor of Charismatic leaders and the followers may be reluctant to work under any other leader except for thecharismaticleaderif they have worked under the leadership of charismatic leaders………………
