“This case focuses on the production and inventory management Synthite, a manufacturer of oleoresin in Kerala, India. Addresses the business problems facing the production of oleoresin capsicum, one of its star, and outlines the problems Synthite make-to-stock (MTS) production strategy, inventory management practices and more practical material flow in the factory. Synthite created in 1972 have grown to become the largest exporter of spice oleoresins from India, with a share 35% oleoresin industry worldwide. however, the company faced several challenges in inventory management, production planning, and ultimately, to meet customer expectations at the time of driving. Driven uncertain demand for their ad-hoc finished products storage strategy of nowhere. manual transmission in the plant materials resulted in the waste of labor resources, capacity and materials. Extensive testing quality in a single control blocked 30% to 50% of the capacity for extended periods. The case provides quantitative data to analyze Synthite inventory management, material flow and delivery time of the order, and the focus of the company is disclosed to meet the challenges it faces. Synthite finally decided to invest in additional production capacity and automated material flow in the factory. I also implemented the concept of a “motherbatch,” the essence of what was to store semi-finished products (GFS) instead of finished products (FGS). ”
