A case describes the struggle of DK NCC return to profitability in bankruptcy after the bubble burst in residential construction in Denmark in 2006. After becoming CEO of DK NCC in October 2006, Torben Biilmann and his management team have transformed in three steps that led to the company in financial difficulties to Prosperity: stabilization (2006-2007) and the effectiveness and sustainability (2008 -), and Management (2009 -). The story has many elements are in a classical transformation, including restructuring, renovation and renewal. A case provides a platform to explore how Biilmann and DK NCC management team got back on the road to profitability, focusing on five Must-Win Battles (MWBs). A four-part video (total length 21 ’44”) complete the case.
