Natura-Ekos: From the Forest to Cajamar, Portuguese Version Case Solution
This Case is about SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
PUBLICATION DATE: July 29, 2003
The business participated in social projects developed in communities. However, when it established the Ekos product line, social responsibility was driven by Natura deep into the heart of its company. Several materials that were used exclusively by conventional native communities were included by the new product line in the hinterlands. Instead of only purchasing the raw materials from them, Natura established a partnership with these communities to share with them the economic gains caused by resource investigation that was accountable. These communities lived in extremely primitive conditions at distant places and had the essential expertise required in order to develop Ekos’ merchandises. So, their living conditions would possibly change drastically. The civil society organization Imaflora additionally participated in the coalition to ensure this natural resource investigation was economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable.
