LITERATURE REVIEW ON PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP Case Solution

Article No 2

Title and Source of the study

The research paper which was given the title of Energy efficiency and Public-Private Partnership was written by FrédéricBougrain. The article was published in the journal “Built Environment Project and Asset Management” in 2012. Moreover, thearticle has been extracted from emerald insight, since this is a unique website which provides the most authentic, well organized and recognized articles which have been published in international journals.

Purpose of the Research

The goal of this paper was to analyze the performance of the PPP sector and to contrast both of the sectors i.e. public and private sectors. However, the study also focused on the rule and regulations about both of the sectors and their regulatory bodies along with them. The other target of the survey was to develop a solution to reduce the energy consumption’s which was increased due to the formation of many PPP enterprises in the France. Moreover, some concepts of case studies were taken to contrast the performance of this sector and to compare them with the previous studies as well.

Research design and methodology

It has been discussed earlier that the primary objective and purpose of the survey was to identify the association of PPP’s performance with the regulations and energy consumption’s and to find out the most feasible solution to the increasing demand for power. However, another purpose of the study was to measure the innovation, timely deliveries, and other performance related issues. Therefore, in order to conduct the research, the author used Pearson Correlation to find the significance and association with the fulfillment of the PPP and energy consumption’s. Nonetheless, the author took new developed PPP contracts as the sample and applied the technique to calculate the results and to suggest practical implications for future research while recommending the feasible solution to the problem.

Findings

Results reveal that the PPPs performance is acceptable, as the sector is efficiently working to the timetable and contracting prices. However, this segment lacks in innovation, quality of services and life cycle costing. Moreover, there is a high association between energy consumption, and performance of this sector was also found. Furthermore, it was also found in the study that there is a substantial relationship between the PPPs contracts which are in progress and thermal regulations. After considering the discussed factors, the author suggested that the success of this industry requires regulators’ attention, as well as the segment requires proper disclosure of the data about the contracts to reduce uncertainty in the market. (Bourgrain, 2012)

Suggestions

Finally, it can be seen that there are numerous factors which are under consideration as discussed above. Therefore, it has been suggested that the author has to explore this study again to make more concrete proposals and to provide more precise, accurate and specific findings. Since all the discussed findings are about the PPP’s performance however, they are not producing concrete results and are not entirely relevant as per the requirement…………….
