Leopard Capital: Private Equity in Cambodia Case Solution & Answer

This case describes the formation and operation of Leopard Capital, a “Fund Private Equity Market Frontier” since its inception in 2007 until late 2012. The case concerns the fund founder, Douglas Clayton, and their history of doing business in Asia and led to the decision to launch as Leopard Capital Cambodia focused on the private equity funds, and later to expand into other markets such as Mynmar border, Mongolia and Haiti. The case highlights the challenges facing fundraisers Clayton as a fund manager for the first time working in a developing country, and part of the strategy to create Leopard used to attract investment capital. Also the case is over the economic and political history of Cambodia.
