This case presented interesting comic book format, describes the first week after Antonio Scarsi (disguised), an expatriate manager plays the role of CEO in a Chinese domestic company underperforming and demoralized. Although Antonio had extensive experience in China, including the considerable linguistic abilities, knew little about the society in which he was the only employee who is not Chinese, and had never worked outside the network support for a multinational company. Your goal is to turn the company within six months. The challenge is how to learn more about the company as quickly and efficiently as possible and noted their intention to revitalize employees. This case can be used in conjunction with the case entitled “Michael Faye goes to China” (IMD322). Together, the two cases focus on “learning leader in China” and encourage participants to consider the very different learning styles and leadership qualities of two common expatriate managers faced major challenges in managing the growth of their cases Chinese companies to encourage participants to consider: 1.) your own leadership and learning styles are similar, and their consequences, and 2) what they could do to become leaders and more effective and efficient new missions, and 3) how to learn from other students during class discussion.
