These platforms assist the governments of the countries in sharing information, communication, co-ordination, delivering services, business transactions with the governments and various other purposes.

These modern tools have been mostly a blessing due to the development and introduction of internet.(Jain, 2009)

These tools of the knowledge management are knowledge organizing tools, knowledge maintenance tools and community of practice tools. The community of practice tools in the knowledge management systems of the e-Government allows the government to adopt a shared mutual process for the people who perform similar tasks and operations. This allows the government to develop and introduce a combined or mutual process of learning for the individuals involved in the process.
