IBM China Development Lab Shanghai: Capability by Design Case Solution

When IBM changed a territory based on what he called a traditional multinational organization globally integrated enterprise, established his headquarters “Growth Markets” in Shanghai and “established markets” in New York. This places the China Development Lab (CDL) in Shanghai as a key platform to serve growth markets, including the BRIC countries and other regions of rapid development. The case study on engine startup IBM established its business and CDL laboratory research, and a review of three vignettes product development focuses on the systematic approach to the development of staff and laboratory capacity.
