Daren Kemp, a member of the Board and the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles, is responsible for corporate relations with Standard Chartered Bank (Standard Chartered). Standard Chartered is one of the 94 companies in strategic partners Heidrick (SPP) program. The objective of the PSP is to build value-based strategic customer relationships. Kemp joined Heidrick in 2008 and in 2010 was able to build a strong relationship with Standard Chartered. The case describes how Kemp and his team have increased this relationship and raises questions about what can be learned from this experience and apply to other accounts of the PSP.
