HCL Infosystems Ltd. is a renowned hardware and a major market player in India offices. Due to changes in consumer behavior, the desktop market is down and demand is shifting to laptops, where HCL has a small presence. The problem is compounded by the fact that the HCL brand loses market share and the company has the financial resources to invest heavily in brand building. Management believes that the HCL Beanstalk must capture eight percent of the retail segment of the Indian market AIO to get the same market share of business-to-business, which is slower to adopt new technologies.
