Since the 2010 quake, the executive director of the Foundation for International Development Assistance (FIDA) had been handling exploding demand for economical development from Haitians, the international development community and from individual Canadians.While there clearly was lots of cash available for quake aid and micro-financing, much less was available for sustainable long term economic development. FIDA needed an added $2 million over the following three years to support endeavors that was approved by both FIDA and its Haitian associate, productive cooperatives Haiti (pcH).
