On one hand, this case study is designed as a vehicle for understanding the already incurred costs and opportunity costs Fibertec. On the other hand, refers to the decision to close one of its departments and outsource to an engineering firm. In addition, this paper provides an analysis of what could be the best decision according to several criteria (economic, risk level, people involved, etc..) For the calculation of the incremental costs of the two options should take into account the savings real and those, such as the costs do not affect the decision, since the costs are the same in both cases. Opportunity costs of each option are discussed and for each of the possible savings.
