The January 1, 2012, the Customs Union of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia took a major step in regional integration by removing all barriers to trade, capital movements and labor? PART among the three countries. The lawmakers noted that even this milestone is only a way station on the road to a full “Eurasian Union” of 2015. However, this idea of a greater good integration, and if so, what form should the integration? This paper examines the opportunities and challenges, both deeper (ie, more intensive) and broader (ie, more inclusive) integration in the Eurasian space, and concludes that further integration will work for everyone if it is based on promoting of trade liberalization that has been absent from the region. More, including Ukraine is not necessary for successful integration, but the countries of Central Asia should be encouraged to follow the example of a Eurasian Union liberalized.
