A saying in the industry said that “there are two types of car rental companies.’s Losing money and business” The company that would become Enterprise Rent-A-Car was launched in 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, Jack Taylor. Taylor has established corporate offices in neighborhoods and not in airports, because he believed that the host of a local option to hire Americans in their own vehicles were repaired. In 2010, the company had more than 6,000 rental agencies in the United States and a fleet of 850,000 vehicles in service. His mother, Enterprise Holdings (including the Enterprise, National and Alamo brands) accounted for almost half of the car rental market and was more than twice the size of Hertz, the number two in the competition. The competitive advantage of the company was the result of the combination of their practices in the recruitment, training, compensation, organization, customer service, IT, fleet management, among others.
