Adam Famularo, general manager, Cloud Computing business, CA Technologies, and David Dobson, executive vice president and group management, Customer Solutions Group, prepared a presentation on communication and new positioning strategy for CA Technologies cloud computing. Analysts have expressed concern about a series of acquisitions in 2010, and stressed the need for CA Technologies to clearly indicate its strategy and objectives and identified in a compelling way to position and differentiate their offerings in the cloud. Industry experts said the CA Technologies mainframe bread and butter was dead and gone. Famularo knew the CA Technologies product line was anything but obsolete thing, having evolved to help companies manage and protect their most complex IT environments. In 2010, analysts have indicated that the activity of CA Technologies mainframe was high and represented over 60% of company revenues and most of its profits, with no signs of slowing down. But considering the attractiveness of existing CA Technologies mainframe and distributed enterprises, the firm would support emerging business cloud company? If the cloud business of CA Technologies has positioned itself as a progressive addition of mainframe and complementary businesses or client-server must be presented as a technology and completely revolutionary?
