Creating and Sustaining Trust in Virtual Teams Case Solution & Answer

Conventional wisdom assumes that trust develops from a history of interactions and interpersonal communication through which people come to another “know and trust”. In virtual teams, however, establish trust can be tricky: members may not have had on which to build, there is no future for reference, and may never even meet face to face. Swift but fragile trust can be developed early in the life cycle of a team. However, if the trust does not develop quickly or even dissipates, members must find ways to build trust in the other.
