This technical note means to present an opening to service performance indexes as well as their applicability to the cultural sector, particularly the visual and performing artwork. We begin by examining the complexity inherent in the cultural world and in services both to design of performance indicators. We then carry on to present ideas for the layout of general indexes for cultural institutions and services. Eventually, we introduce notions to function as the foundation for setting up individual indexes for cultural institutions and for services.
