Care Key introduced personal medical history systems of the patients on the internet for the first time and it also had other assistance services like scheduling the appointments with the doctors.

After selling the company, the owners realized that the medical assistance and healthcare services for the patients can also be introduced on the internet as it was much feasible and more customer care specific than the current system of the country. This transformed the industry as it sorted some critical issues and reservations of the patients as the process is much cheaper, less time consuming and more comfortable for the patients as they do not have to wait weeks for seeing the general physicians. Through this system when the customers are free and want to get a checkup can log in to the system and get consulted and in the case of the physicians, they could check the patients.

The scope of this case study is to analyze the business structure and investigate the best possible business opportunities and alternatives for the management of the company. The co-owners currently have a number of opportunities to consider and adopt like expanding domestically while looking for new health care partner, expanding the services of the organization overseas or to introduce a new service that also includes specialists other than physicians. The purpose of this case study is to analyze all these options and propose the most feasible among them all.

There are some issues that need to be addressed and analyzed as they are likely to immerge if the management of the organization decides to pursue its challenges. The expansion plan of the management of the organization is likely to raise all these issues as it will increase the work load for the management of the company. The management of the company is seeking for options to expand itself and these include expansion globally, expansion domestically and launching new services.

If the management of the company launches EBSM healthcare services over seas then this initiative of the company will require massive capital investment of the business and additional resources like database systems, management systems and other secondary supportive systems and activities for the business and it might lead to excessive workload pressure for the management of the business. This might lead to a lack of focus from the primary market and operations of the business as the organization is a few years old.
