There are two companies that are considered as always-a-share market. These companies are Google and Apple, as their operating system and IOS capture huge market share by providing continuous value in the market, as the users of digital landscape are increasing. Both the companies share the market and contribute as businesses are evolving through online channels,as it is cheaper and they can reach to maximum people in the matters of seconds. Alternative solutions

One alternative is that the dominant firms should strive to introduce new products. Another option that Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple have at their disposal, is collaboration instead of competition. Collaboration can be critical to save the firms from the heavy resources that are much needed to compete, but competing for dominance would be more beneficial to consumers as it would translate to an improvement in quality and an access to the substitute products.(Björn A. Recommendations

All the companies have rooms to evolve their competitive advantages, as Facebook and Google should gather customers’ data for advertisements, according to their likes. Apple could bring more innovation and Amazon could enhance its interface devices and cloud computing. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple should increase their investment in research and development. The companies should focus on areas that would provide them with sustainable competitive advantages regarding the contested boundaries, and thus, making them able to keep up with the rise of the winner-takes-it-all markets on the internet as discussed by Kuchen and Vidal (2016). For Google and Apple, it is necessary to develop a competitive advantage based on the technological changes, to sustain their market positions.
